The Identity Valley Initiative is a European reaction to the hype of the American Silicon Valley. Where technological developments are chasing each other at a rapid pace, where digital technology is becoming a maxim, where the merging of the digital and the real world takes place. Is digitization everything? Europe is "the valley" for a credible, transparent and valuebased digital economy.
PROF. DR. DR. H.C. JULIAN NIDA-RÜMELIN, STAATSMINISTER a.D. Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität München, Lehrstuhl für Philosophie und politische Theorie und Direktorium Bayerisches Institut für Digitale Transformation, Autor "Digitaler Humanismus - Eine Ethik für das Zeitalter der Künstlichen Intelligenz."
"From Germany and Europe, an alternative to the Silicon Valley ideology is needed, in which AI threatens to become a substitute for religion. Digital humanism is technology-friendly as well as philanthropic. He sets himself apart from the apocalyptics because he trusts in human reason, and he sets himself apart from the euphoricists, because he respects the limits of digital technology. Digital humanism leaves the church in the village. He pleads, inter alia, for a strengthening of judgment in order to give reliable guidance in the oversupply of data."
"Technically we fly to Mars. Ethically, we still do human exercise with the chimpanzees in the trees. Automation, Industry 4.0, Robotic, Digitalization, Artificial Intelligence - the boundaries between man and machine are blurred. The view of the good in and for humans is becoming increasingly unclear - and increasingly important. Compared to the technical development we have to catch up in the moral evolution a good 2000 years. To do it is an order of the day."
DR. MARTIN A. SCHOISWOHL Experte für Kommunikation, Organisationsentwicklung und Wertewissenschaft, CEO KOMMHAUS
The Identity Valley (IDV) brings together business, science and society. The aim of the non-profit platform is to protect personal identity, to promote mutual trust and to enable digital innovation - for man and machine. In understanding identity as the nucleus of value-based digitization, we create opportunities for a German-European digital economy.
PROF. DR. DR. H.C. MANFRED BROY Mitbegründer des Center für Digital Technology and Management sowie des Zentrums Digitalisierung Bayern
"The success of digital products and processes deeply depends on the experienced quality of such interactions. Interactions with digital technology have to be effective, effortless, self-explanatory and aesthetically pleasing for the user. The ability to desigu digital technology and digital applications in a way that optimal user experience is created is a key factor for the success of all branches of industry, which are becoming digitized very quickly." aus: Towards an Interdisciplinary Munich Center for Human Centric Engineering of Digital Systems
"The creation of a new, fair capitalism based on civilized, identity-based "rules of the game" will create a new form of digital market economy. The digitization of identity concepts will shift power to the benefit of end users.Digital identities are key to breaking existing data monopolies and gigantic ones offline market into the digital."

The initiative brings together entrepreneurs, politicians, scientists and citizens in Europe. It wants to promote the trust between man and machine in the age of artificial intelligence. "It's all about trust" is the credo. It's about value-based economics. It's about corporate responsibility. It is about a worthy coexistence of man and machine. And it's about identity. Digital identity is a critical success factor. Digital products and services that respect and protect identities, without excluding policies, are the future. Human and digital identities are at the center of all considerations.
PROF. DIETMAR HARHOFF, Ph.D langjähriger Vorsitzender der Expertenkommission Forschung und Innovation der deutschen Bundesregierung und Direktor am Münchener Max-Planck-Institut für Innovation und Wekbewerb
"We now need to develop new business models that work on the basis of a controlled approach to data while at the same time providing incentives for innovation. This requires new technical and legal requirements. The Identity Valley launches as a new organization committed to a trusted, privacy and personal identity driven data economy, derived from Europe's humanist tradition."
"The Identity Valley will be an upswing for the social digital global Internet economy just as the social market economy has fueled Germany's upswing."
ALFONS RIEK Vice President InnovaUon and Technology, FESTO
"For our digital life, it is important to have a digital identity that allows privacy, security and trust. That's why we're interested in the Identity Valley Initiative and discuss how we can work together in the context of the recently launched Google Safety Engineering Center in Munich."
